Welcome to the National Institute for South China Sea Studies (NISCS). NISCS is an academic institute attached to the Hainan Provincial government. From the policy point of view, it works under the guidance of Foreign Ministry of the People's Republic of China (P.R.China), while receiving professional instruction from the State Oceanic Administration of the P.R.China. The Institute specializes in research on South China Sea (SCS) issues and has been actively engaged in academic exchange and cooperation with academia at home and abroad. Through our staff's efforts, we have achieved a great deal of academic research results and gained successful experience in this area. The NISCS will maintain this academic focus and make further contributions to the academic study of SCS issues.
